The smartphone market in India has evolved over the years. Today, a user has the option to choose from multiple categories and various models within each category. There are high-end phones, mid-range phones and budget smartphones. While one expects the high-end phones and increasingly, the mid-range phones to be luxurious, there is a common misconception that budget smartphones are completely devoid of any features or style. Users and often even experts assume that budget smartphones do not have any redeeming qualities that benefit the user. However, this is a myth! Low budget does not signify low specifications.

Capturing Memories with Zenfone 2 Deluxe

Hands-on with the latest from the Zenfone family

Meghalaya, a tiny state in the north eastern part of India, is the abode of clouds. The area which reminded of Scotland to the British, it was my destination for a weeklong expedition early this year.

When you visit a state that creates memories at every step, you should be equipped with good cameras to capture those. I thought relying on one camera (my dad’s Nikon P610) wouldn’t be too brilliant an idea, so wanted to take another camera along with me. I thought it would be good if the device, in addition to taking awesome pics, could also be my backup communication device.

And the device which performed very well, satisfying both requirements, was Asus’ Zenfone 2 Deluxe. Here are some notes from my experience of using this device.

Zenfones will now be made in India

The Zenfone Selfie Experience

Asus' Zenfone magic continues, now with Zenfone Selfie

"We reached AjjanaMane well before lunch time and had enough time to explore the place. The fact that it was raining on-and-off added to the kids’ excitement and before we knew, little feet were jumping up and down in rain. I should say the Zenfone Selfie did a pretty good job of capturing these shots. After clicking a burst of shots, it also let me stitch them into an animation.

The primary camera of this phone has laser focus, and that lets you quickly focus and click nice close-ups even when the subject is not perfectly still (e.g. flowers when there’s some wind)."
